(The following is not meant to invalidate anyone's feelings in any way.
Pain
whether physical or emotional,
whether a paper cut or being in labor
is real.
And whether you're drowning in a ten-foot-deep pool
or drowning in the ocean,
you're still drowning and need to be saved.
But pain is also relative,
and recognizing that can sometimes
be just the help we need.)
How can I complain?
When my baby wakes up every hour all night long...
but someone else would gladly lose their sleep to simply have a baby.
When my daughter gets a cough and so we have to cancel all our plans for the day...
but someone else's child is battling cancer on a daily basis.
When I feel frustrated about having to deal with recurring marital squabbles...
but someone else can't wait to have a marriage to work on.
When my household chores are overwhelming and my home always a mess...
but someone else doesn't have roof over their heads.
When meal planning and grocery shopping consume my day...
but someone else is starving.
How CAN I complain?
